He did not know that he was rather an answer than being a victim when he took courage to
answer the question. Though reporter had 10 more questions lined up, he did not
dare to ask the second one. It was just a full stop answer to all the questions. All these theatrical reality shows in discussion panels of TV
news channels were not the part of the genuine news report before the invention
of this suicidal rating system. The urge of getting more ratings to their
stories was never the part of the success equation before its invention. News
channels were in fact mirrors to the issues happening in the society without any color
added to it. They had a very responsible position in guiding the
society towards the direction it was supposed to move forward. They did not put
the story in their point of view. There were not just people who
supported point of view but also reasonably contradicted the issue that most of
the times led to a healthy discussion. On a whole, the whole news panel
discussions were different viewpoints of the issue giving viewers the whole
picture of what’s happening rather than just what the media wanted to show.
After a lot of struggle after the
death of his legendary actor father, it took lot of effort for him to find a
supporting role in a TV serial. But not every son of a legendary dad had always
born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He did not even know if it was the right
profession to him. Maybe he
just wanted to act in this TV serial because the society wanted him to
act. This half-hearted approach to deal with the hardships he was going through
in life looked like not the right way to deal with them. He did not even know
what to do when this contract with serial team ended. But he was not a loser.
He knew that if the industry is not lifting his hands the way as it did to his dad, it was not the end of the world. If acting is not the right profession
to feed his family, there were other means to earn bread to feed two meals a
day. The immediate solution he saw was totally out of the way. Finally, when no
other ways struck, he decided to accept this offer of working as cab driver for
a travel agency of one of his friends. He did not know this self-esteemed act
would be put as a shameful act by one of the leading news channel.
It was one of those sunny days
where a news reporter just caught him after dropping a customer to airport. He
did not know what was about to come. It was just a week into his new job. He
was shocked rather than being amazed when this question came out of that
reporter’s mouth pointing mike to his face just as he stepped out of the cab
for a fresh air. “Sir, how does it feel to be a cab driver being son of a
legendary actor of that potential?”. Though he blanked out for a moment, he
took composure and answered it calmly. Later the news channel did not even take
courage to play it.
